Knockranny House, Mayo

We recently returned from a trip to Ireland and stayed at some lovely places, including Mrs Tully's Dromore House in Sligo which was most enjoyable.
We then visited Westport in Mayo and had a great stay at the very elegant Knockranny House.
In Galway we stayed at the Park House Hotel which was quite deceiving from the outside, but quite beautiful inside. It was a terrific location for the tour offices, Eyre Sq, and Shop Street which is a must see! So very much to do!
My only complaint? I burned out two curling irons - burned hair right off my head too!! Perhaps the hotels could rent the proper adaptors to their guests. I bought one at Shannon Airport but must have misread it. I think hotels could assist their guests from the States with this problem.

Park Inn Mulranny - Mayo

I have to tell you about my experience at the Park Inn Mulranny! I stayed at this hotel last year and have to say I agree with everything you said in your review. The food way surpasses the hotel itself, but the staff are more than friendly and helpful. Our hot water boiler in one of the apartments broke down and it so happened that the duty manager that night was the restaurant manager. He fixed the boiler between serving us our appertisers and bringing the coffee and wishing us Goodnight. Now that's service!

Park Inn, Mulranny

The light was just beginning to fade as I arrived in the westerly resort of Mulranny. The scenery since Westport had been unexciting, but when I caught sight of sandy beaches and mountains rising up on the other side of the bay, I looked forward eagerly to my visit. The hotel is imposing but rather strange looking; a pink and brick edifice with a Dutch style façade looking above the main road. I was warmly greeted and was delighted to find my bedroom overlooking woodland. Other pleasant touches in my room included two bottles of spring water with real wineglasses, a flat screen TV, Gilchrist and Soames bathing products in the bathroom and soft Foxford rugs on the bed. Going off to dinner was a wonderful experience altogether. The service, presentation and food were exquisite and not overly priced.
