Staycation Anybody?

Despite all the hotel horror stories that we are hearing about from fairly minor to truly terrible experiences, it seems that a large amount of Irish people plan to spend their hard earned holidays at home this year.  If recent reports and opinion polls are to be believed, we are all either fed-up with flight disruptions and restrictions or are victims of an innocent belief that we will actually enjoy a proper summer this year.  Or maybe it is that we are all broke, and just plan on putting up a tent in the back garden and attempting to convince friends and family that staying in is the new going out when it comes to holidays?
School is out for summer now, so if a decision has not been made already, it is time to put the thinking cap on.  Are you flying off to Florida or taking a villa in Valencia?  Is it sunny Spain or swinging Sligo?
I would like to hear from ordinary people, not marketeers, on what and where is being panned for the break during the next couple of months.
