Renowned Irish food, ten unique bedrooms, one of Dublin’s finest restaurants and the coolest address in town – how many great reasons do you need to book into The Cliff Town House? Although it opened in mid 2008, we only got around to visiting recently and we found it lively, luxurious and as popular as ever. The Cliff Town House stands on the site of a late 17th century house and was once the home of the Earl of Shelbourne. ACCOMMODATION AT CLIFF TOWNHOUSETen unique bedrooms, and we had the one on the very top of the house looking out over St. Stephen’s Green. For a historic townhouse we had every comfort – luxury bed linen, robes and toiletries. Space and super power shower, tasteful décor, hot radiators and windows that open for fresh air. We were comfortably ensconced in a house full of character and charm and we had the best shops and atmosphere in the city on our doorstep.AVIATOR LOUNGE AT THE CLIFF TOWNHOUSEFor a boutique townhouse hotel, this one has all the essentials including a very cool cocktail bar. The Aviator Lounge has an intimate and funky feel, really comfortable chairs, a perfect little bar, friendly staff, a clever cocktail menu and four large model aircraft suspended from the corners of the ceiling! We opted for a Champagne Cocktail and a White Lady and sat sipping these as we checked out the tempting menu for the restaurant downstairs. |
