A friend of mine said recently that she had stayed in The Fairview in Killarney and liked her room so much she wanted to live in it! Good omen, I thought as I drove out to check out a small hotel that has been gaining a big reputation.

Local people are coming in their droves to the restaurant, and tourists are keen to stay in the centre of town in a comfortable guesthouse with all the comforts of a top hotel.
So, I arrived with some expectations.

ACCOMMODATION AT THE FAIRVIEW

I received a very friendly welcome and was delighted with my room. Each is individually appointed, and mine had a large comfortable bed, a plasma screen television, a jacuzzi bath, separate power-shower, a comfortable sitting area with sofa and a lovely view out over the town. One of the most interesting things about this hotel is that each of the rooms is different, and therefore the price structure can accommodate all pockets. The real jewel in their crown is the penthouse, which is very luxurious with views over the Kerry mountains.

Having arrived early, I just settled in to my comfortable room for the afternoon enjoying a mix of some work and some newspaper reading. It was a Sunday after all!
