Greens Restaurant

 What is so unique about this restaurant is the setting - the views are nothing short of breath-taking.  Sitting either inside or outside, the rolling greens of the Ring of Kerry Golf Course bring the eye further across Kenmare Bay to the mountains in the distance.  Recent renovation that really impressed us on our recent visit has brought Greens up to a whole new level.

And so to the food - Green's is billed as a Pizza Restaurant, and indeed the pizzas are fabulous.  Probably the best in Kerry and local people are proving to be very regular customers.  But it is not just the pizzas that are bringing the them back - Sunday lunch is now renowned.  This is a Kenmare gem with exceptionally good food.  Sunday lunch has a roast of the day, which comes with all the trimmings, and a fish of the day that comes with a wonderful caper and prawn sauce. Their triple-cooked chips served in a basket are impossible to resist!

I have been there for Sunday lunch on a couple of occasions, and each time the place has been buzzing.  It is the same during the week, where the pizzas are flying out the door, the burgers are really popular and the salads, starters and sides are all favourites.  One thing that makes this place so popular, besides those famous views, is that the portions are so generous.  For fish lovers like us, the seabass and the tuna steaks were perfection on a plate.  We also chose a starter of calamari to share - and what a generous portion that was!

It is easy to see why the locals flock to Greens - and it is not just for the great golf! Since the trendy new refurb, Greens is now getting a great reputation for events such as weddings, day-after wedding parties and launches.  It is easy to see why,they can cater for up to 200 people, there is plenty of dancing space and that balcony and roof top veranda with stunning views - a little piece of heaven!
