Some months ago I stayed just one night at the Ritz-Carlton in Mexico having spent the day learning how to make great food and even greater Margaritas at the Culinary Centre. I loved this luxurious hotel which boasts a Spa with Mayan treatments, a beautiful stretch of beach, exceptional breakfasts, and the great Culinary Centre. We were the only Irish people there, and funnily enough were drafted in to supervise the pouring of the tequila in to the Margaritas! Needless to say that was no problem at all, and we proceeded to make a full Mexican meal including Seafood Ceviche, Red Snapper with Mexican rice and lime flan with roasted pineapple. The class was a real highlight of our holiday, and we came away with not only fun memories but with recipes so we could emulate the meal at home.
Dining
This is an excellent hotel, without doubt one of the best on the Yutacan Penninsula. With all the wonderful Mayan culture in the surrounding area, this is one luxurious base to enjoy it all from. The food at the restaurants is first-class, and while it is expensive, it offers wonderful quality and choice. We decided it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had, with buffets of Mexican, Mediterranean and Asian specialities, every fruit you could imagine, and delicious dishes made to order. If you are visiting Mexico, check out this hotel.
